Five for Friday: Lights, Apples, & Mornings!

Woohoo! TGIF!

We have been working super hard on our letter and sound identification. In working with our apple unit this week, the kiddos had to match upper with lowercase letters and a picture that corresponds with the sound. It was quite the group effort!

We made our apple anchor chart and I was surprised how much the kids knew about apples already. We have read many fictional and informative texts about the ways apple are grown as well as their cycles. Click the link below to check out my apple pack full of goodies!

We started our very first word family and made the Moffatt girls interactive word book. The kiddos put their books together and then got in small groups to practice reading.

Every single person in our household is in the school year groove now. The mornings have been tough for Jaxon (and me) as he starts his new adventures in Transitional Kindergarten but his teachers have been excellent with us. Kyle tries to help in the morning....can you tell? LOL! The tears have gotten better with each day even if it means taking our blanket in the car on our ride to school. I also have to send a huge thank you to my dad who has volunteered to pick him up daily so that he doesn't have to go to aftercare. They run little errands after school and get him treats which is a bonus! I have been working with my dear friends at our Friday night football games which has been so much fun! So thankful for the wonderful people in our lives =)

Our stations are in full swing now and the kids have gotten into a great routine! I found these huge dice at Five & Below and they have been a hit. They also use our little finger lights as they read their leveled readers. It's the little things that add so much excitement!

Have a great weekend!
